Shoutout to the Rotary Club of Ross River for rocking the Strand Markets last Friday! Our amazing team hustled from setup to pack up, ensuring a seamless event. 💪💙
What makes it even better? Every dollar earned goes straight back to our community! 🤝 Your support at the markets helps fund local projects that make a real impact. 🌈 Thank you, Rotary Club of Ross River, and our fantastic community!
What a perfect day at The Strand on Saturday! The Ross River Rotary Club members came together to host a BBQ at the StepUP! for Down Syndrome Townsville fundraising event for Down Syndrome Association of Qld.

The gorgeous weather and picturesque location couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the sea breeze was invigorating, and the smiles on everyone's faces were truly infectious.

A huge thanks to Sunrise Rotary Townsville who provided us with both the barbeque trailer and their dedicated members David Roderick and Brian Dobson who cooked up a storm!
Together, we're making our community more inclusive and supportive. #RossRiverRotaryClub #StepUpForDownSyndrome #CommunitySupport
What a great day for a working bee to make sure our chairs and tables were spick and span!  The early start was good and with a good roll up we had cleaned all the tables and chairs, cleaned out the trailer and
restacked everything back by 8:30. We now have everything clean for the third of February for our first markets of this year.

Welcome members to a new Rotary Year. The year finished strong with another successful strand markets set up/pack up. Thank you to all volunteers who helped. The Club handover was excellent! Our guests certainly all enjoyed themselves. Looking forward to another successful year with the Rotary Club of Ross River, and working with our fantastic board. Thank you all for your support.

Yet another successful markets with the help of Tim, Ken , Charlie, Tom and Charmaine came just in time to help erect the tent. We managed to complete the task by 8-00 AM and then went to breakfast.
The evening pack up was done by Ken and his son Daniel, Charlie .JOD, Matt, Trevor and Stefan with the help of other Rotary members. We were pretty much done by 10-30 PM . we still had the trailer with the extra bases and bollards so we picked up the bases, bollards and bunting off the Esplanade rather than carry it all back to the trailer and utes. The other Rotarians did the walk around while we connected up the trailers.
Matt and Stefan came out to Riverway to help unload the trailer which was much appreciated.
Yours in Rotary

Thank you to all who attended and did their shifts. The event went really well with a good representation of exhibitors. Those that I spoke to were very happy with the response and inquiry they received.
John Larkin said the numbers were down on Thursday but there were more people through by 10am Friday than all of Thursday. Also they were allowed to park on the grass beside the Civic theatre on Friday.
The pack up went really well and thanks to Keith for covering for me while I went to a Memorial service. When I arrived back all the flagging, bollards and bases had been collected and returned to the various locations and finished being loaded on my trailer. Our signs had been changed and were stacked by the Trailer. I finished loading the signs, sanitizer stations and we now have another Marque to store as well. We are missing 2 rolls of bunting that I have yet to track down. I loaned the Tea Terrace my 90LTR esky to use which took some tracking down as Ede Events staff had taken it with their tables and chairs but it was quickly returned.
We will unload the trailer at the next Strand Markets , I will be placing the Markets Signs on the Strand prior to the next Markets. To those whose shifts were cancelled due to our efficiency we will catch up next time. The decision to hire an Events coordinator and Jeanette from Mareeba Markets were well worth the cost as the Event was well organized and ran very smoothly. I think we will be doing it again as a Rotary Event. We won’t know till after the next meeting how the numbers will stack up with a lot of outlay for set up costs. So once again thanks to all who contributed their time to make the event happen.

Yet another successful markets with the help of Tims friend along with ken , Charlie , Michael , Tom and Peter we managed to complete the task by 7-30 AM and most went to breakfast.
The evening pack up was done by Ken .JOD , Tiffany , Keith , Tom , Peter , Trevor and the other Rotary members. We were pretty much done by 10-30 PM but once again we abandoned our Tom and Peter who were still wandering the park. I was nearly to the Vale hotel when I noticed my phone light up. It was Tom ringing to tell me I had a seniors moment and forgot to collect the taps, so much for the procedure manual on arriving back Tom and Peter were standing guard . we loaded them up and this time left together thanks Tom and Peter.
Tomorrow morning Ken and I will go to Reid Park to unload the Bollards ,Bases and Signs prior to returning the trailer to Riverway.

What does Ross River Rotary do?

We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

Our Four-Way test is a simple ethical framework to help us in our lives every day. Feel welcome to use it yourself - it's pretty simple:
Of the things we think, say or do:
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Ross River Rotary Club has weekly dinner meetings allowing you to learn something new, both from club members, who are endless sources of knowledge, and from weekly guest speakers from within and outside the club.

We have many small projects - check out the rest of our website to see what we do!

Ross River Rotary members enjoy fun activities together.  We recently had a weekend away to the Richmond Bush Sprints and have plans for another in the near future.
