What a great afternoon was had at the Yacht Club on Sunday the 5th of July. Thanks to the previous board for their dedication over the past year and welcome to the new board. Looking forward to seeing what the new Rotary year holds. 
A great day was had by all at the Ross River Rotary Club handover luncheon on Sunday at the Yacht Club.
It was a big farewell to our previous president Trevor Philipson, who led us with great purpose. Congratulations to our new president Trevor Lyall and the incoming Rotary board. We are looking forward to your leadership and drive over the coming year.
Donations were made to Angel Flight, Red Cross House and Belgian Garden Scout group. Thank you all for making a real difference in our community.

Last Wednesday, the Ross River Rotary Club teamed up with the talented Cathedral School Choir to sing beautiful carols and hand out lollies to patients and staff at the Townsville University Hospital.
The smiles, laughter, and joy shared reminded us of the true meaning of the holidays—coming together to spread love and happiness. A huge thank you to the amazing choir for their angelic voices and to everyone who joined us for the festivities!

History of the prize
This prize was founded in 2010 and maintained with donations from the Ross River Rotary Club in memory of Professor Phillip Summers. The prize is awarded to the student enrolled in the Bachelor of Veterinary Science who is progressing to year 4 who has shown the most improved performance across years 2 & 3 based on a comparison of exam results over the two years.
Big shoutout to Neville Maluga from Rotary Club of Ross River for his amazing efforts! Neville's been working hard to assist the Red Cross Wellness Centre at the Townsville University Hospital. Recently, he helped purchase and install two much-needed range hoods, making a real difference for guests and staff.
The Red Cross Wellness Centre provides crucial support and accommodation to patients undergoing treatment at the Townsville University Hospital , and these upgrades will enhance their experience immensely. What a perfect day at The Strand on Saturday! The Ross River Rotary Club members came together to host a BBQ at the StepUP! for Down Syndrome Townsville fundraising event for Down Syndrome Association of Qld.
The gorgeous weather and picturesque location couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the sea breeze was invigorating, and the smiles on everyone's faces were truly infectious.
A huge thanks to Sunrise Rotary Townsville who provided us with both the barbeque trailer and their dedicated members David Roderick and Brian Dobson who cooked up a storm!
