What a perfect day at The Strand on Saturday! The Ross River Rotary Club members came together to host a BBQ at the StepUP! for Down Syndrome Townsville fundraising event for Down Syndrome Association of Qld.
The gorgeous weather and picturesque location couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the sea breeze was invigorating, and the smiles on everyone's faces were truly infectious.
A huge thanks to Sunrise Rotary Townsville who provided us with both the barbeque trailer and their dedicated members David Roderick and Brian Dobson who cooked up a storm!

Well what a great turn up of members and volunteers we had, special thanks goes to Julie for bringing along her family who worked as a team on cleaning chairs. The clean up of tables and chairs went well with another group sorting and length tagging all the bunting so we aren’t guessing how long a roll is anymore. Also unrolling and untangling the rope flagging. Charlie for going to Bunning and buying 2 more hose reels to roll flagging onto. We now have enough of both for the Mega Markets. It ended up being quite warm so Shannon went off and purchased cold water and very nice coffee for those of us who needed a boost. Rachael for organizing the morning snacks of Subway which was very enjoyable for those of us who didn’t have other commitments. The shed was locked and I left at 11AM. We had 15 adults and 3 children who seemed to have a great time helping.

Exciting news, Ross River Rotary family!
We're proud to support Peter Brown's R100 Qld project, celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Queensland with a unique twist – a 1990 Commodore wagon decked out in Rotary livery, now sporting our club's name on the back! 🙌
Peter's journey with the Variety Bash Queensland took him through Townsville on Thursday, August 31st. We were lucky to meet him and snap some photos, before he continued spreading the Rotary love travelling from Toowoomba to Cairns.
